Pawtucket Red Sox

Last week was URI Pride Night at a Pawtucket Red Sox game. The Paw Sox are the minor league baseball team for the Boston Red Sox. It was a great crowd, great food, and great game. The Paw Sox are a big draw and a lot of fun to spend a night out on the town. They are located right outside of Providence with a great stadium, called McCoy Stadium.

Coach Inglese threw out the first ceremonial pitch of the game and threw a STRIKE!!! She had been practicing and her practice certainly paid off. All of the women's basketball staff was so proud of her!

If you are into baseball or just want to enjoy a night out ... a Paw Sox game is a great way to go!

Around Rhode Island, Vol. 1

As you may have learned from Coach Inglese's Twitter page, the bridge connecting the islands of Jamestown and Newport is absolutely beautiful. Its also pretty close to campus, which is great for us!

Just wanted to share a few pics to show you all how nice it is!

3.3 GPA for summer session #1

Our returning players continued their academics this summer at summer school session I. They established a goal of 3.0 or better and in the end, went above and beyond receiving a 3.3 GPA for the session. We are so proud of their accomplishment!

Now, what will our incoming freshman achieve in summer school session II???? The competition is on! :-D
